Just for all you techie folks out there.

Here is a list of the lumps of metal and assorted tools I use, in no particular order or preference.

• Lathe : Hegner HDB 200 XL. It’s the only wood lathe I’ve owned and I am pleased with it overall, however if anyone has a VB36 cluttering up the place I would be happy to take it away for them!!
• Bandsaw: Scheppach Basato 3. A nice bit of kit but I have found I am ‘outgrowing’ it.
• Pillar Drill: Draper GD 16 Okay but you get what you pay for, plenty of power, good speed range but not a precision tool by any means.
